- Comments: 23 years older Ernest Gulbis from Latvia is one of the most young talented players of the tour, is impressive if we analyze all his tennis characteristics, Ernest has an amazing service which he averages a lot of aces per match and as well a strong second service which he uses to risk a lot and important for him is not to make a lot of DF according to the speed and the free points he gets.
The backhand is the most solid stroke he has, let's say his natural one but with the forehand he gets most of his winners, having a huge speed on that stroke but as well on his wrong days making too many unforced errors giving a lot of easy free points to the opponent.
Although his incredible talent and qualities, Ernest since last season is making a lot of disappointed performance and results, he needs to get back with confidence because his riskful tennis needs that and as well work on his mind because he gets "crazy" too easily and sometimes when things goes wrong on a match he lose easily his mind making all UE and throwing out the match.
This season on the ATP Tour he has not any wins, three losses on three, for sure he had not easy first rounds taking players as Youzhny, Llodra and Raonic indoors that are for sure very tough first rounds and then let's say unlucky on that side, but it is still not understandable how can a player like him without injury get almost on march without winning a single match, just a couple of wins on DC but against not professional players.
28 years older Alejandro Falla from Colombia instead is totally a different player, he bases his tennis on the baseline playing as more solid as possible, being a great fighter with an amazing mind according to his normal tennis qualities.
Probably he has one of the worse tennis services for speed, being left-handed player he gets a lot of spin on the ball and from left he can serve a good slice to open the court but still a service absolutely not effective.
As well on the baseline he doesn't gets a lot of winners with his strokes, he tries to be solid without any unforced errors and with forehand and backhand as well he can play almost on the same way without any difference of winners and speed.
Not a lot to say about Falla, just a very solid player with a great mind that plays his best on the grass and defend his chances great on hard, playing on clay his worse tennis.

Verdict:
Sometimes might be very hard to bet and invest money on a player that in a couple of months of tour has still not any wins, a player that is absolutely out of confidence and that desperately needs to find a win to back with a positive attitude on the court and confidence that for his riskful tennis is absolutely a must.
If we are looking just the qualities and characteristics of both players Gulbis is the stronger one and the match will depend just on him, according that will be the one to make winners and unforced errors.
The good way on this game for him is that being a poor player on the defensive way Gulbis faces today Falla that is the perfect player to let back him in the rhythm of the game without letting him play in defence and always having the chance to hit strong the ball and find the winner.
Important as well is the surface, in Delreay Beach is usually very fast, in the past there were Winners as Korolev, as well Gulbis facing Karlovic on the final and this absolutely helps his characteristics and will be a big key according the player he is going to face today that for sure prefers maybe a little bit slower hard surface.
All things that might help Ernest on this match, as well a god memory according that two years ago, last time he played here in Florida he won the trophy and for his mind and confidence this should be a nice memory.
We finally believe that Gulbis will back on this match, right condition for it and like underdog for US it's simply a must for bet with confidence on him.
